The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
Interesting take on the Battle Royale type scenario as more of an extension of reality television. Hardly fine literature but enjoyable the way it plays out like a video game. If your expectations are low, you can’t really fault this. (7/10)
If Chins Could Kill - Bruce Campbell
Autobiography of the star from Evil Dead. Bruce Campbell comes across as a lovely, misguided man with an unshakeable innocence. Some interesting stuff about being a B-lister but most of the information is irrelevant unless you’re a fan. Which I am. (6/10)
Alone Against Tomorrow - Harlan Ellison
Highly depressing collection of stories that deal with alienation from pulpy horror/sci-fi writer Harlan Ellison. The writing is not very developed and the naming conventions are downright childish at times but damned if it’s not enjoyable as all hell. Besides, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream is a high octane nightmare fuel masterpiece. (7.5/10)
