Gladiator (2000)
Suffers from not enough action and silly direction. The cinematography is also stupid and some of the ‘death’ scenes where the protagonist’s HEAD floats over an obviously greenscreened background makes me want to barf. Music is highly inappropriate at times and faux slow motion shows up at ridiculous moments during the fight scenes. Some of the gladiatorial matches are fun to watch though. 4.5/10
Murderer (2009)
Holy crap what the fuck is going on here? Hong Kong tries to pull off a Kiyoshi Kurosawa and Aaron Kwok falls flat on his face. The cross-processed, meditative feel ripped right off Kyua is marred by Kwok’s desperation to prove that he is a 120% real actor. AND THEN SUDDENLY what starts off as a mediocre film becomes balls out hilarious largely due to the tweest that has to be seen to be believed. 6/10
