adventure
And a month later, the adventure I sought on that drunken night seeks me out and overwhelms while everything else seems to fall away naturally. In the space of a few days, I lose my iPod, my phone, my computer. In the space of a few weeks, I lose myself so completely to soft flesh and careless laughter. I rediscover what it is to inch towards someone, to know that they are not so different from you. I rediscover the pleasures of reading a novel printed on paper. I rediscover what it is like to wait, to want, to lose. I start to realise that sometimes the structure of the music doesn’t matter as much as the heady giddiness it inspires. When we dance, it feels like freedom. When we kiss, it feels like hope.
